being with what is: learning and loving california native plants

  • CA, 91361 United States (map)

being with what is offers us a moment, a day of wonderment, learning, communicating, caring amongst plants.

living in the santa monica mountains for five years and the big sur coastal mountains for another five i was able to connect deeply and really learn to love and be with the plants around me. this class is an offering of deepening connections to the plants and land around us, deepen our familiarity, our kinship and our innate belonging on earth. a lesson in not taking on stolen lands, but giving by being with, listening, and spending time in community letting the plants into our hearts and healing together.

this is an all day (4-4.5 hour) in person class, location TBA in topanga canyon or malibu depending on blooms. we will learn or continue to meditate and deepen our communication skills with plants and more than human beings. we will do deep reflecting together and introspectively. we will learn the names of the plants around us through an educational plant walk. we will go deeper with them and invite them in and share intimate moments. we will learn about sharing vibrational energies through flower essences and make a collective essence together, expanding on collaborative practices that aren’t relying on taking.

this class will happen rain or shine. if it does rain we will pivot, potentially working with essences inside. since i am coming from out of state, there will be no refunds. sliding scale and payment plans available - please email me at sssnakeroot@gmail.com to inquire.

access needs: asl available if given a week in advance notice, will require hiking maybe a mile or two max on uneven ground with lots of stops to look and notice, will be sitting on ground but i could carry a light camping chair if provided.

participants bring own snacks, bagged lunch, art & journaling supplies, good shoes, plenty of water, coverage for the sun & also cool weather - what you need for hanging outside for 4-4.5 hours in the mountains :)

this is an all ages class and your children can come for free :)
